For the past couple of months we've really been trying to keep him off of his back as much as possible. He's got a bit of a flat spot on the back of his head from laying on his back so much & his pediatrician told us to keep him off of his back unless he's sleeping or having his diaper changed. If you've read previous posts, you'll remember that Whit hates being on his tummy so this has been a challenge. Whit has ultimately won because he can now roll over from his tummy to his back! At first it was a struggle for him & would take him a while to figure it out. Now he does it in about 1.5 seconds (as if to say "HA-HA mom & dad! You just TRY to put me on my tummy"). He hasn't rolled from back to tummy, but is getting very close.
In another effort to keep him off of his back, we've been putting him in his exersaucer more and more. His feet finally touch the ground in this little gem of a toy. He really likes this thing, but gets tired in it pretty easily. He's still on the small side for his age, so we have to shove a towel or a blanket in the seat with him to help him sit in it. Mom & dad love this toy b/c it keeps him off his back & entertained at the same time!
He very recently found his feet & it's so cute to watch him grab both of his feet (also impossible to keep socks on - good thing it's summer!!). Now when I put him in his swing I have to strap him in b/c he trys to grab his feet, which makes him fall forward.
We also have started feeding him some solid food, but more on that later!
Here are some recent pics...
