A few weeks ago we went to a "Back in the Saddle" party for all MUSC students. It was a western theme & Dean Dollar was the band. Back in our college days & before I met John, he & his friend Jeff used to get on stage & sing with Dean whenever he came to the Esso. I was very curious if John would do the same 6 years later in front of new friends, most of whom don't even know John likes classic country & southern rock music - much less sings & plays the guitar.
Dean spotted John immediately & invited him on stage several times. It took lots of convincing (some from me, some from friends, and a lot from the Anheuser-Busch company) - but John finally got up there. Actually, the convincing factor was an agreement that if a couple of his classmates would give the mechanical bull a try, he would sing.
Here's two of John's friends on the mechanical bull, holding up their end of the bargain...

Here's John singing with Dean...

After John started singing, two girls from his gross Anatomy class jumped on stage to join him (the picture is fuzzy, but you get the idea)...

Then, John was joined on stage by some random Indian student that no one knew. He was very excited to be on stage & he didn't seem to mind that he didn't know any of the words to any of the songs.

Here is a group shot of some of the people in John's dental school class. (Note the random Indian guy that no one knows made it into the picture too!)
