Waters in Carolina: Trip to A-town

Whit turned 7 weeks old today! He had a check-up at the doctor this past week and we found out that he now weighs 7 pounds, 3 ounces and is 20.5 inches long. That means he has gained 2 pounds 5 ounces and has grown 1.5 inches in 7 weeks. He is really starting to take in his surroundings, and often stares intently at whatever is in front of him. He's also starting to make some cooing sounds. Best of all, he has started to smile!!! So far, he has only smiled at John, but it melts my heart every time! We'll work on getting a picture of the grinning action for the next post.

John had spring break this past week, and we decided to take the opportunity to head to the upstate to visit with family and introduce Whit to his extended family. It was a whirlwind trip, with visits with the Waters, Daniel and Madden families. Whit did great, both in the car and with the many people holding him. He was definitely the star of the show at every gathering. There are some pictures below of his visits.
