We don't have anything too exciting to talk about. Over the past few weeks we've led pretty mundane lives. But, for the sake of a blog post, we'll tell you about it anyway!!
A few weeks ago, John's parents (aka Nana & Papa) came down to visit us. Let's not kid ourselves - they came to visit Whit. My parents are no different when they come to visit. John & I are just Whit's parents & that's okay; we wouldn't have it any other way! So we didn't feel bad at all in leaving Whit with his Nana & Papa while we skirted up the road to North Myrtle Beach to hear the Avett Brothers at the House of Blues.
This is a new band to us & they didn't disappoint. They are a little rock, a little bluegrass, & a little punk. If you ever get a chance to hear them definitely check them out. The band consists of two brothers (who play the piano, guitar, banjo & harmonica) and then a bass player & cellist who are not related. Their lyrics are very raw & h0nest, and their melodies & harmony are impressive. It's a little different, but it's great!
If you haven't seen Whit lately, you are in for a surprise! He has grown like crazy over the past month. He literally jumped right over size 6mo. clothes. He's right at 26 inches long, which is the up most limit for his infant carrier. So last week we went car seat shopping & came home with a brand spankin' new seat for Whit. While it seems to be more comfortable for him, I'm having mixed feelings abouit it. With the infant seat, we haven't at all been tied to the house because Whit easily falls asleep in the seat. Just the night before we got the new seat, we took Whit to dinner at Taco Boy with the Wienke's & were able to stay as late as we wanted while Whit slept in his carseat. With no family around to help with babysitting, that's HUGE!! Since the new seat doesn't leave the car, we are either going to be sticking closer to home, or eating with the bluehairs at 4:30pm :). Our wallets & bank account are either going to love the change (if we stay home more), or hate it (if we use hired babysitters).
We're still introducing new foods to Whit all the time & he LOVES to eat solids!! He loves it so much that we are having a hard time getting to take his bottles. He's also becoming more & more vocal. He smiles and laughs all the time (especially if we're tickling him!). He's a joy & sometimes I still can't believe he's ours!!
