It's unbelievable that we only have 3 short weeks left in Charleston. We decided, because of the current real estate market, to rent our house in Charleston instead of selling it. We were lucky that it only took a couple of weeks to find a renter -- but they need to move in one week after John's graduation. So that means we have less than three weeks left in the lowcountry.
Because nothing is final, I can't write what our plans are. But hopefully I'll be able to let everyone know early next week. Also because it's not final, we haven't decided where we're going to live. It's a little stressful knowing we'll have to be out of our house in 3 weeks, but don't yet have a place to go. We know in the end it will all work out.
Though our time here is winding down, we've been going full steam ahead. Nana C, Pop & Great Da Da visited a couple of weeks ago and we were able to enjoy some quality time with them at Isle of Palms. While we were there, we ventured out to the beach with Whit. He was not a fan. He was scared to death of the water, and didn't like it when the wet sand got on his hands. He did however love the hush-puppies at Seewee Restaurant. The following weekend we went back to the upstate to visit Nana Jo and Papa. They had a great time with Whit while we visited friends in Greenville we hadn't seen in a long time.
Last week, Whit had to have some minor surgery to have tubes placed in his ears. Getting tubes involves a small amount of general anesthesia, and we were warned that he'd be upset & disoriented when he woke up. Even though we were warned, it was still difficult to watch him be so upset. He cried for quite a bit longer than the doctors and nurses prepared us for, but in the end he did great. By bedtime that night, he was pretty much back to his old self. We are thankful the procedure went so well, and glad to have it behind us!
These days, Whit is loving music and dances a little whenever he hears it. Also, his favorite past time is to fit objects inside other objects. I joked last night that he's going to be a packaging science major when he gets to college. His other favorite thing to do is to drop objects. He loves to sit on the 3rd or 4th stair (fully supervised, of course), hold whatever items we've placed on the stairs (usually socks & shoes) through the banister slats, and them drop them.
Below are some pictures from our weekend at Isle of Palms...
This is the only way Whit enjoys the beach - in Nana C's lap, no where near the sand or the water. If he didn't look so much like me, I'd wonder if he was mine!
