Two years old!

As it has a terrible habit of doing, time has been flying by, and Whit's big 2nd birthday almost got lost in the shuffle of a very busy month. We tried hard in the midst of the chaos to make it special & exciting for him. His actual birthday was on a weeknight, the week before his party. So we celebrated at home, just the three of us. John & I tried to explain the concept of blowing out candles, but Whit didn't catch on.



By the time we actually brought out his little cake with the candles, he was a little afraid of them?? Look at that face above!!

Needless to say, Whit needed some help blowing out the candles. We vowed to "practice" a few more times before the party, but we didn't follow through.

Mommy & Daddy got Whit a tent for his birthday! He likes to walk through it, but so far hasn't been to interested in playing in it.

The day of his party we were blessed with a beautiful 60 degree day - a rarity in January! So we spent most of the time outside, soaking up the sun. All of Whit's grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins were on hand, which made it a very special day.

Elmo helped us celebrate!

Cousins were on hand to provide lots of entertainment for Whit.

Though he didn't blow out his candles, he took his cake eating very seriously.

After cake it was back outside for a little baseball.
