That's one big sigh of relief you're hearing from the Waters Family. The reason for that big sigh is because the month of October is behind us!
The month started with John being sick.
Then Whit got sick.
Then I got sick.
Then Whit & John got sick again while I was sick. (talk about miserable!)
Then we all 3 were Finally well at the same time.
For about 3 days.
Not exaggerating.
Then came Halloween. And Whit got very sick. 103 fever for a solid 24 hours with just the tiniest bit of relief from Tylenol and Motrin. He felt so bad it was just heartbreaking. We all were terrified it was H1N1 Luckily, his fever broke after just one day. He had a rash & a very sore throat for a few days following the fever, but I'm thrilled to say he's now back to his normal self.
In the middle of all that throw in one budget deadline for me, and John working in Greenville for a week (which happened to be the week of my budget deadline) and it makes for one stressful month.
So bring on November, because the Waters family is ready!
Despite all the bad, October wasn't totally a lost month. The month started with a trip to the upstate to watch our good friends Shaun & Tami get married and we had a blast. We visited an awesome pumpkin patch. The following week Nana C, Pop, Aunt BeBe, soon-to-be Uncle John and even cousin Rocky all came to Wild Dunes for a visit. We watched Clemson beat Miami with great friends (who might as well be family). Finally, we ended the month with a visit to Anderson which included Whit's first trip to the Duck Pond, and the purchase of his first pair of real shoes from Cochran's Shoes.
Also, on October 24th, Whit turned 9 months old. I'm not sure where the last 9 months have gone, but I'm in disbelief that Whit's that old. I'm also well aware that the next 3 months will go by even faster and he'll be a year old in the blink of an eye. At his nine month visit his pediatrician said he is a perfect 9 month old. We couldn't agree more. He's barely hanging onto the charts for weight at 16lbs 9oz (5th %). He's 27 inches tall (25%) and super smart with a head circumference in the 50%.
He's moving all over the place, but his current choice of transportation is rolling. I've put him on his hand & knees about 1000 times and he's just not at all interested in crawling. He will stand as long as you'll let him (he loses his balance after a few seconds if you're not holding his hands), but he hasn't figured out how to pull up yet. He's babbling and gurgling nonstop, and still loves to blow bubbles. He's still loving everything we offer him to eat, and is sporting two bottom teeth!
